Megan & Bill - Loyola College & Baltimore Museum of Industry

November 15, 2008
Megan and Bill's ceremony was in the chapel on the Loyola College, Baltimore, Maryland campus. The reception was at the Baltimore Museum of Industry. I really like how they had arranged the museum for the reception. They had hors d'oerve stations placed throughout the museum and staff members on hand to answer any questions the guests might have. They even fired up the machine shop with all its belts and pulleys.

The photographer was Kyle from Kyle Bergner Photography. I have worked with her before and I was glad to do so again, she is a talented photographer. I think that we are able to work well together because we both put the couple at the center of our attention. We didn't battle each other for position because we both know that photo and video are very different final products. It allowed for us to both ply our art to the best we could for the couple, and I think our final products will reflect that in the end.

Also, this crowd was very active on the dance floor. They got down from the first dance until after the band quit playing. It was a lot of fun, and I wish Megan and Bill all the best.

Katie & Chad - Mt. St. Mary's & Antrim 1844

November 8, 2008
The ceremony was at the Immaculate Conception Chapel on the Mount St. Mary's campus in Emmitsburg, MD. This is a beautiful, old church with a choir loft. Meghan was up in the loft to capture a good second angle, to cover the dedication to The Blessed Mother Mary and to capture Katie's aunt who was playing the flute in the loft. As usual, I was at the alter for the processional and then moved to the end of the center aisle for the duration of the ceremony. Katie & Chad had a full Catholic Mass which tends to be over an hour. The couple has chosen our edited ceremony video. The final video will include all of main events of the ceremony but in a shorten version. The reception was at the lovely Antrim 1844 in Taneytown, MD. The flowers were a rich red set against a bright white. The centerpieces and cake were the highlights of the reception decor.

Erin & Ryan - Quiet Waters Park

November 1, 2008
The wedding took place at the Quiet Waters Park in Annapolis. The location was a public park but the couple had rented one of the available buildings. The day turned out to be great for an outdoor autumn day, the sky was bright blue and the trees were at the peak of the fall colors. The photographer Mike Buscher had a great chance to take the couple out for a photo session on the arched bridge and the gazebo nearby. Erin & Ryan were a great couple to work with and for, and they did one of what I think was one of the sweetest things I have seen at a wedding. During the short non-denominational ceremony, the officiant read a pre-vow that each had written to the other. They were simple sweet stories that told of how the couple had meet and fallen in love, and how they look forward to spending their lives together. I wish Erin & Ryan all the best.

Jessica & Brett - Gramercy Mansion

This past weekend we filmed Jessica and Brett's Wedding. The interfaith ceremony was at the Towson United Methodist Church under the custom hoopa in historic Hampton Maryland. This was one of the most beautifully lit churches I've ever seen. The sun through the windows created beautiful pools of light making the church's interior glow. The reception was at the upscale Gramercy Mansion in Greenspring Valley. The wedding was a ton of fun and the couple danced the night away. The photographer was Eric Stocklin - a long time friend and colleague of my wife. He was great to work with and I think his working style added to the enjoyment of the evening. Weddingscapes did an awesome job with the floral decor. They did both the ceremony and the tablescapes at the reception. This created a real feeling of continuity between the ceremony and reception. The deep rich colors they used for the bridal bouquets and centerpieces were unique. I would highly recommend any of these wedding vendors.

Charnita & Claude - Renditions Golf Course

Yesterday we filmed a wedding at Renditions Golf Course in Davidsonville, MD. The setting was beautiful and the weather was perfect. Charnita and Claude had an outdoor ceremony overlooking the golf greens. They incorporated the breaking of bread, a sand ceremony and jumping the broom. The reception was inside the banquet hall. A rich maroon blanketed the bridesmaids, the favors, rose petals and most of the reception hall. For a day wedding, it sure was a happening party. The dance floor was packed for most of the day. Everyone had a blast. Alan from Morningstar Photography was a pleasure to work with.

April & Don - Piney Branch Golf Course

Last night we filmed a wedding at the Piney Branch Golf Course in Hampstead. What a beautiful setting for the ceremony and reception. They have a covered patio for the ceremony overlooking the rolling hills of their manicured greens. The ballroom is also beautiful and spacious. The staff at Piney Branch were very accommodating. I'm sure that April and Don were thrilled with their wedding. We worked with Norm, Lauren and Penny from Greystone Photographics and Scott from Great Scott Productions. As always, these vendors are very professional and easy to work with. April and Don are a lovely couple, very friendly and obviously in love. I'm sure that it will be a pleasure to edit their video.
